VINTAGE EMERGENCY MILITARY AIRFIELD LANDING LIGHT WITH CANVAS COVER AND PEGS

Description

Up for auction is this VINTAGE EMERGENCY MILITARY AIRFIELD LANDING ,BATTERY OPERATED , LIGHT.  It is attached to a metal stand, 6 in.x 6 in. The cover is  11 inches tall .   It is protected by an olive drab , heavy duty canvas bag  with a handle,4 peg holding strap's, and a draw string .  The bulb  cover is held into  the canister with a screw on yellow ring.  I was unable to remove the bulb  cover due to age, it is stuck on tight. The photos show  all the details including the on/off switch. Also included in this package is a set of  5  tent pegs in a OD canvas bag, size 12''x5''.  They  are not the original pegs to this light.  I added them just as an extra.
On the side of the bag is stenciled  ''FILL WITH BALLAST BEFORE USING'' .   These lights outlined the runway  to guide airplanes into remote areas. They were quick to set up and easy to take down.  I believe it uses a lantern 6V battery , not included.
It is a military item but not sure which era.  Be sure to look at all the photos.  Excellent military collectable for any  ''MAN CAVE''
