    I am told this is an exceptionally rare WWII Western W31 Parachutist knife sheath.
    See photos for condition.
    What I do know:  I found this (along with a period USN knife - listed separately on ebay) in the bushes in the early 80s.  I don't think it had been there more than a day or two.  The leather has been oiled in recent years.  My opinion is that the leather itself is in good condition (it doesn't appear to be moldy or falling apart).  Various numbers and initials have been stamped or scribed into the leather.  Retention strap is missing.  The leather around where the retention strap was mounted has been cut (see photos).
    Put this on your watchlist - I will be lowering the price once a week until it sells.
